Compression Therapy

Compression Therapy helps you recover faster between workouts with less down time. This is achieved by using pulse technology to apply compression to the legs, arms or hips, reducing muscle soreness and improving circulation.

What Does it Treat?

Compression Therapy is a go-to staple for treating option of choice for orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, professional and Olympic athletes to help them with:

  • Pre/Post Workout - recover faster and perform better
  • Injury Recovery - treat acute and chronic injuries
  • Post-Surgery Rehab - heal faster with less pain

Compression Therapy can also be used to treat the following medical conditions:

  • Wounds that won't heal
  • Lymphedema
  • Problems with your lymphatic system
  • Varicose Veins
  • Any circulation-related conditions where there is swelling in your limbs
  • Prevention of Deep Vein Thrombosis, or blood clots

What is NormaTec?

Compression Therapy uses a combination of pulse massage pattern - pulsing, gradients, and distal release - which speeds up the body’s recovery process by flushing toxins and lactic acids from your sore muscles. The pulse pattern massage and compression is the key to maximizing your recovery:

Instead of squeezing to transport the fluid out of your limbs, NormaTec uses pulsing which mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms to improve the movement of fluid out after a hard workout.

Because your veins and lymphatic vessels only have one-way valves that prevent fluid backflow, the NormaTec compression system holds pressures to make sure the fluids are not forced in the wrong direction.

Distal Release

Once the hold pressures are no longer needed to prevent backflow, NormaTec releases the pressure in each area as soon as possible. This allows each section of the limb to rest time between cycles.

How Does It Work?

After being fitted with the specific sleeves, the pre-inflate cycle starts, allowing the device to mold to your exact body shape. The targeted compressions begin, pushing blood flow throughout the region being treated. The feeling is similar to the kneading and stoking experienced from a hands on massage. Each segment of the attachment will compress in a pulsing manner, then release. This will repeat as the pulsing pattern works up and down your entire limb.
